We offer therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, with appointments available face-to-face, via telehealth, or by telephone. Sessions are 50 minutes and tailored to each person’s needs. In limited circumstances, school and home visits may also be available.

All matters discussed in sessions are treated in the strictest confidence. Your personal information is gathered as part of your assessment and treatment, and, in the interests of your privacy, used only by your clinician and the authorised personnel of the practice (e.g. administration staff). It is stored in password protected computers or in locked filing cabinets. In accordance with Privacy legislation, no information from these files will be released to a third party without the consent of the client. However, brief written reports of treatment progress will be emailed or faxed to the client’s referring medical practitioner in accordance with Medicare guidelines.
Exceptions to confidentiality, where client information will be disclosed include:

Subpoenaed by a court, or disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.

Reasonable belief that you or another person are at serious risk of harm.

Your prior approval has been given to discuss material with another person or third party, such as your employer, health provider, third party funder, school teacher, etc.

Private paying clients

Clients with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral from their doctor, paediatrician, or psychiatrist

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants

Workcover clients

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) clients

Fees are payable on the day of service

A $60 cancellation fee applies to appointments cancelled within 24 business hours of the scheduled appointment

A doctor’s referral is not required to book an appointment, but a valid referral is needed to claim the Medicare rebate

Macleay Psychology & Allied Health can process Medicare rebates on your behalf. Rebates are typically deposited into your nominated account within 1–3 business days

Eligible private health insurance rebates may be claimed using your Macleay Psychology invoice. However, Medicare and private health insurance cannot both be claimed for the same session

We are not registered to provide services for Victims of Crime clients
